It is important to remember the murder of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was martyred by an Israeli sniper’s bullet to the head.
Shireen Abu Akleh, the journalist most familiar to the Palestinian people, whose voice we grew up with and whose voice we received no coverage other than hers, was the voice of the intifada, of the martyrs and their families.
The occupation was not content with killing Shireen with its cowardly sniper, but also attempted to assassinate her funeral, assaulting her body and preventing her people from honoring her message.
Through these events, we can understand that the occupation, before fighting against us, fights against the truth by directly targeting journalists and carrying out policies of repression and murder against them.
